So much to do with so little time!

I am so sorry for the lack of posts, but it’s been a crazy, emotional, and exciting few weeks! So let me fill you in….

I recently wrote Gov. Beebe along with every state Senator regarding my concerns with HB1037.  I basically gave my testimony, like I have with my blog.  My concerns were not enough to change the minds of those Senators and they overruled Gov. Beebe.  Today, the house overruled the Governor again with SB134.  However, because of our voices being heard, SB134 was amended with the following language regarding medical anomalies, such as anencephaly.

“Medical emergency” means a condition in which an abortion is necessary:

“(A) To preserve the life of the pregnant woman whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself, or when continuation of the pregnancy will create a serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman; or

(B) Due to the existence of a highly lethal fetal disorder as defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board”

I am so proud of all of us that have stood up for what we believe in and made a difference!  I am hopeful that other Arkansans will have the opportunity to make the choice(s) that is best for them, their babies and their families! Because, let’s face it, unless you have been there you can’t even begin to imagine what choice you would make.

I have also started a team “Anencephaly Angels” for the March of Dimes, March for Babies!  Our original goal was $350.00; however, after only five days we have surpassed that and are at over $700.00!  Our goal will continue to rise as people continue to give! Below is the link for “Anencephaly Angels.” I hope that you will take the time to march and/or donate and make a difference in the lives of so many precious babies and their families.  My goal is that someday we will have a cure or at least a better understanding of anencephaly.

With Much Love & Thanks,

~Free to Fly~
